Amber Cronin is the co-founder and was the Artistic Director of The Mill from 2012-2018. The Mill remains a unique organisation in South Australia, providing arts programming adjacent to its vibrant community of resident artists. It is a multi-artform creative incubator that programs and supports collaborative practice through developing new work and facilitating sustainable career pathways.

The Mill was initially imagined as a junction between visual art, movement, dance and theatre. The Mill has a strong curatorial focus with a particular interest in interdisciplinary projects and site-specific, publicly-engaged practices and audience focused creative direction.

The Mill is committed to local artists sustaining a rich and inspiring practice within SA and will continue to have a focus on bringing artists from around the world to engage and contribute to the arts community.

Amber’s role as director of The Mill has given her a broad knowledge of arts practice. Amber has developed innovative programs and events for The Mill’s physical space and NFP arm of the company. Amber has developed the companies public programs and artist development opportunities while managing the arts space and curating the gallery program, alongside  co-founder Erin Fowler, developing a sustainable and successful business model which still exists today.
